A singer, songwriter and guitarist from Ontario, Canada, RG Davis caught the guitar bug from his dad and brother, and by the early 80's,
was playing folk and blues tunes wherever he got a chance,

"I played in small bars and coffee houses, and at some festivals around Ontario; normally as a solo act, but occasionally with a band. Often for no pay, but sometimes for a decent sum. Later, when I lived in Japan, I had a regular, solo acoustic gig in Tokushima, and did a few neat festivals. Those were great times because the Japanese fans really appreciated blues."

Asked about his influences he says, "I was inspired by all the blues greats from Robert Johnson to EC and SRV, and all of the great 60's and 70's folk and rock players; anything earthy, with that unbridled element of improvisation."

Davis has wandered the globe, and worked a number of "good and bad" jobs over the years, but has always been drawn back to music;

"A guitar was the only real anchor I had when I was a kid and in my formative years. When things got bad, it pulled me back from the edge. It became how I identify myself, and how I really express things. I'm not much of a talker, but you can pretty much see where I'm coming from, in or between the lines of my songs."
